After Johnny Storm’s death the remaining members of the Fantastic Four became the core of the Future Foundation. As per Johnny's wishes, Spider-Man filled out their ranks. With the new team came new third generation unstable molecule costumes, able to shift in appearance. The Future Foundation black and white standard look could be flipped to a negative color pattern, or anything else the wearer could imagine. In Spider-Man's case, this included his iconic red and blue look.
